Montreal to Melbourne

Mile End Bagels began with two friends determined to bring the perfect bagel experience to Melbourne. The pair jumped on a plane, skipped New York and landed in Canada for a crash course in all things bagels. After plenty of early mornings, uncomfortable hostel beds and thousands of sesame seeds later Mile End was born.

Baked with wood

At the center of Mile End is the first wood-fired bagel oven in Australia. Hand built by Canadian stonemasons – it’s the real deal. Our bagels are boiled in honey water and then baked in wood-fire to achieve the perfect bagel – a little crunchy, a little chewy with a hint of sweetness – like no bagel you’ve had before in Melbourne.
